Alerts and Notifications

EnaCast has an alerts and notifications system that keeps you informed about the status of your station. The system automatically notifies you when technical problems occur, such as streaming errors or recording incidents.

The system monitors the status of your station’s stream and notifies you when it detects problems:

  • Stream down: the live broadcast has been interrupted
  • Stream unavailable: the streaming server is not responding
  • Stream recovered: the broadcast has been restored after an interruption

Alerts are also generated when relevant system events occur:

  • Recording errors: an episode could not be recorded correctly
  • Processing errors: the transcription or processing of an episode has failed
  • Storage issues: errors uploading audio files

EnaCast can send alerts through different channels:

ChannelDescriptionRecommended Use
PushoverPush notifications on mobileUrgent alerts you need to see immediately
EmailSent to a list of recipientsReports and alerts that don’t require immediate action

Alerts have different priority levels that determine how they are sent:

PriorityBehavior
LowSilent notification, non-intrusive
NormalStandard notification
HighPriority notification that bypasses quiet mode
EmergencyNotification that repeats until you acknowledge it

To receive Pushover alerts, you need to:

  1. Install the Pushover app on your mobile device (available on iOS and Android)

  2. Create an account on Pushover if you don’t have one

  3. Contact EnaCast support to link your station to the alert system and configure the recipients

All alerts are recorded in the EnaCast logging system, regardless of whether they are sent via Pushover or email. This allows you to:

  • View the alert history for your station
  • Verify what incidents have occurred and when
  • Track recurring problems
  • Review alerts regularly: even though not all require immediate action, they help you spot patterns
  • Set up Pushover for streaming alerts: so you can react quickly if the broadcast goes down
  • Contact support if you see repetitive alerts: this may indicate an underlying issue that can be resolved

Yes. The monitoring system runs continuously and sends alerts automatically when it detects a problem.

The alert system is designed to work automatically. If you receive too many alerts, contact support to adjust the configuration.

Alerts are sent to the recipients configured for your station. This typically includes the station administrator and the EnaCast technical team.
