Custom Navigation Menus

Custom menus in EnaCast let you create tailored navigation bars for your website. You can add links to custom pages, modular pages, and external URLs, and control the order and visibility of each item.

What Is a Custom Menu?

A custom menu is a navigation bar that appears on your website and contains the links you choose. You can create multiple menus, and each one is displayed in the position you assign.

Each menu can contain three types of items:

Item Type	Description
Custom page	Link to a custom page on your website
Modular page	Link to a modular page on your website
External link	Link to any external URL

Creating a Menu

1. Log in to the management panel at studio.enacast.com. In the sidebar, under Website, open Custom Menus
2. Click New Menu
3. Fill in the fields:
   • Title: the menu name (may be visible to visitors or internal only, depending on your website design)
   • Order: a number that controls the menu’s position relative to other menus
   • Active menu: activate the menu to make it visible on your website
   • Show on mobile: enable this option if you want the menu to show on mobile devices
4. Click Create menu. The menu’s page opens, where you add its items

Adding Items to the Menu

To come back to a menu’s page later, click its row in Custom Menus. On that page:

1. Click Add item
2. Choose the item type: External link, Custom page, or Modular page
3. Fill in the fields:
   • Title: the text visitors will see in the menu
   • URL (external link), or the Custom page or Modular page you want to link to, picked from the dropdown
   • Order: the item’s position within the menu
   • Show on mobile: whether the item shows on mobile devices
4. Click Add item

External links

External links are useful for linking to your social media profiles, your organization’s corporate website, or any other page outside of EnaCast.

Reordering Items

Each menu item has an order field that controls its position from left to right (or top to bottom on mobile). Items with a lower number appear first.

In EnaCast Studio, an item’s order and other details are set when you add it. To change them, delete the item with the Delete item icon on the menu’s page and add it again.

Tip

Use order numbers with gaps between them (e.g., 10, 20, 30) so you can insert new items in between without having to renumber existing ones.

Mobile Visibility

Both the menu itself and each individual item have a mobile visibility option. This lets you:

• Create menus that only show on desktop
• Hide specific items on the mobile version to simplify navigation

Multiple Menus

You can create multiple menus for your website. Each menu has its own order and will appear in its assigned position. This is useful if you want to separate the main navigation from secondary menus.

There is no strict limit. You can create as many menus as you need.

Can I Add the Same Link to Multiple Menus?

Yes, you can add the same page or link to different menus.

Do Menus Update Automatically When I Create New Pages?

No, menus are manual. When you create a new page, you need to add it to the corresponding menu if you want it to appear in the navigation.

Do External Links Open in a New Tab?

It depends on your website design. In most configurations, external links open in a new browser tab.
