Keyboard Shortcuts

EnaCast includes keyboard shortcuts on both the public website (for listeners) and the audio editor (for editors). These shortcuts allow you to work more quickly and efficiently.

Public Website Shortcuts

Global Search

Shortcut	Action
Ctrl + K (Windows/Linux)	Open global search
Cmd + K (Mac)	Open global search

The global search allows you to search for episodes, moments and news from the station. After typing at least 3 characters, results are displayed organised by category (podcasts, moments and news).

Command Palette

The website includes a command palette (Spotlight-style) that opens with the search. From it you can:

• Navigate to the home page
• Go to the programs section
• Go directly to a specific program by name
• Go to the news section
• Play/pause audio
• Open the podcast archive

Player Controls

When the player is active, you can control it from the command palette by selecting the play/pause option.

Audio Editor Shortcuts

The audio editor in the admin panel includes keyboard shortcuts to control playback, mark cut points and navigate through the audio without using the mouse.

Playback and Navigation

→	Fast forward 5 seconds
Alt + ←	Rewind 500 milliseconds
Alt + →	Fast forward 500 milliseconds
Shift + ←	Rewind 5 minutes
Shift + →	Fast forward 5 minutes

Editing

S	Mark cut start point
E	Mark cut end point
M	Add marker at current position

Zoom

Shortcut	Action
+	Zoom in on waveform
-	Zoom out on waveform

Precision navigation

Combine the different navigation levels to quickly reach the exact point:

1. Use Shift + arrows to jump through the episode in 5-minute blocks
2. Use the arrows to adjust in 5-second jumps
3. Use Alt + arrows for fine-tuning in 500-millisecond increments

Workflow With Shortcuts

Marking a Cut

1. Play the audio with Space
2. When you reach the point where you want to start the cut, press S
3. Continue playing until the end of the segment
4. Press E to mark the end of the cut

Adding Markers

Markers allow you to flag points of interest in the audio. Press M at any time during playback to add a marker at the current position.

Note

Audio editor shortcuts only work when the focus is on the editor. If you are typing in a text field (title, description, etc.), the keys function normally as text input.
