Important
Trimming never modifies the original audio. EnaCast always preserves the complete original recording and creates a trimmed copy that is the one published. If you make a mistake when trimming, you can always re-trim from the original audio.
EnaCast includes a visual audio editor that lets you trim episodes directly from the administration panel. The editor displays the waveform of the complete audio and lets you precisely define where the useful content of the episode starts and ends.
When you open the audio editor for an episode, you’ll see a visual representation of the waveform of the full audio. This visualization lets you:
Trimming removes unwanted parts of the audio, such as silences, filler music, or content before the actual show.
Open the audio editor for the episode you want to trim
Set the start point: place the start marker (green overlay) at the exact second where you want the episode to begin
Set the end point: place the end marker (red overlay) at the second where you want it to end
Preview the result by listening to the audio between the selected points
Confirm the trim to generate the trimmed version
The editor uses colors to indicate different zones of the audio:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | Trim start marker. Everything before this marker will be removed |
| Red | Trim end marker. Everything after this marker will be removed |
| Orange | Topic section markers within the episode |

If after trimming you’re not satisfied with the result, you can re-trim the episode:
Markers divide the episode into topic sections, making navigation easier for listeners. They appear in the editor as orange lines on the waveform.
You can create markers in two ways:
For each marker you can define:
When you trim an episode, markers are automatically adjusted to the new positions. For example, if you trim 30 seconds from the beginning, a marker that was at second 60 of the original audio will move to second 30 of the trimmed audio.
Markers that were outside the trim range (before the start or after the end) are automatically removed.
EnaCast can automatically trim episodes using artificial intelligence. If the program has this option enabled, the AI analyzes the audio, detects where the real content starts and ends, and trims the episode without manual intervention.
For more details on automatic trimming, see the AI transcriptions and insights guide.

There is no “undo” button, but since the original audio is always preserved, you can re-trim the episode at any time with new cut points.
Trimming is processed in the background and can take from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on the episode duration.
Yes. Once trimmed, the version published on the RSS feed and website is the trimmed version. Listeners who download the episode will get the trimmed version.
