Rich Text Editor

EnaCast includes a rich text editor that you can use to write news articles, custom pages, and descriptions. The editor lets you format text, insert images, embed YouTube videos, and add episode players directly within the content.

The editor offers the standard text formatting tools:

  • Bold, italic, and strikethrough
  • Headings (section titles)
  • Bulleted lists and numbered lists
  • Blockquotes (highlighted text blocks)
  • Links to external pages
  • Horizontal separators

To add an image to the content:

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the image
  2. Click the Image button in the toolbar
  3. Upload the image from your computer or paste an image URL
  4. The image will be inserted into the content

Images are automatically resized to fit the content width. It is recommended to use images with a minimum width of 800 pixels for good quality.

You can insert YouTube videos directly into the content. The video will appear as an embedded player that visitors can watch without leaving the page.

  1. Copy the YouTube video URL you want to insert
  2. In the editor, use the Insert video or YouTube option
  3. Paste the video URL
  4. The YouTube player will appear embedded in the content

One of the most powerful editor features is the ability to embed an episode player directly within a news article or page. This lets readers listen to the episode without leaving the article.

To embed an episode player:

  1. In the editor, use the option to insert an Episode or Podcast
  2. Select or search for the episode you want to embed
  3. The player will appear embedded in the content

You can also embed a marker (a specific section) from an episode. In this case, the player will automatically position itself at the audio point corresponding to the marker.

  1. In the editor, use the option to insert a Marker
  2. Select the episode and the marker you want to embed
  3. The player will appear positioned at the marker’s section
  • Use headings to structure long articles. This makes reading and navigation easier
  • Insert relevant images to make content more visual
  • Embed episodes when the news article is related to a broadcast show or interview
  • Use lists to clearly enumerate key points
  • Add links to external sources or other news articles from your station

Can I Paste Text From Word or Google Docs?

Section titled “Can I Paste Text From Word or Google Docs?”

Yes, you can paste text from word processors. The editor will try to maintain basic formatting (bold, italic, lists), but some advanced features may not be preserved. It is recommended to review the result after pasting.

There is no strict size limit, but it is recommended to optimize images before uploading. Images are automatically processed to be served efficiently.

Not significantly. YouTube videos are loaded lazily, so they are only downloaded when the visitor scrolls to them.
