Important
Rolling back deletes all episodes or news articles that were imported in that batch. Before reverting, make sure you don’t want to keep any of the imported items.
Import From RSS
EnaCast allows you to import content from external RSS feeds, including both podcast episodes and news articles. This is especially useful when migrating from another platform and you want to bring your existing episode or news archive into EnaCast.
Importing Podcast Episodes
Section titled “Importing Podcast Episodes”Episode import lets you bring an entire program’s archive from an external RSS feed.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”-
Go to the program in the administration panel where you want to import episodes

Select the import from RSS option

Enter the RSS feed URL of the external podcast

Preview the episodes: the system reads the feed and shows you a list of all available episodes with their title, date, and duration

Review and confirm the import

Wait for completion: the import is processed in the background. You can follow the progress from the panel
What Is Imported From Each Episode
Section titled “What Is Imported From Each Episode”- Title: the episode title as it appears in the feed
- Description: the episode’s descriptive text
- Publication date: the original episode date
- Audio file: the audio is downloaded and stored in EnaCast
- Duration: the episode duration
Duplicate Detection
Section titled “Duplicate Detection”The system automatically detects duplicate episodes by comparing the unique identifier (GUID) of each episode in the RSS feed. If an episode already exists in the program, it is skipped automatically to avoid duplicates.
Import Progress
Section titled “Import Progress”During the import you can see:
- Total episodes: how many episodes the feed contains
- Imported: how many have been imported successfully
- Skipped: how many were skipped as duplicates
- Failed: how many encountered errors (for example, audio unavailable)
- Progress percentage: overall progress bar
Importing News
Section titled “Importing News”You can also import news from external sources:

News Import Options
Section titled “News Import Options”- Auto-publish: choose whether imported news articles are published directly or saved as drafts
- Download images: download and store news images in EnaCast instead of linking to the original source
Rollback (Undo the Import)
Section titled “Rollback (Undo the Import)”If an import doesn’t go as expected, you can roll it back:
The possible states of an import are:

Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Verify the RSS feed before importing: make sure the URL is correct and contains the episodes you expect
- Import into an empty program if possible, to avoid mixing existing content with imported content
- Review the preview: check that titles, dates, and durations are correct before confirming
- Don’t close your session during the import: although the process continues in the background, it’s best not to interrupt it
Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”How Long Does the Import Take?
Section titled “How Long Does the Import Take?”It depends on the number of episodes and the size of the audio files. An import of 100 episodes can take between 30 minutes and several hours, depending on the download speed from the source.
Are Original Dates Preserved?
Section titled “Are Original Dates Preserved?”Yes. Imported episodes retain the original publication date from the RSS feed.
Can I Import From Multiple Sources Into the Same Program?
Section titled “Can I Import From Multiple Sources Into the Same Program?”Yes, but keep in mind that duplicate detection only works within the same feed. If you import from two different feeds that have the same episode with different GUIDs, a duplicate will be created.
Does the Import Affect Transcriptions?
Section titled “Does the Import Affect Transcriptions?”Imported episodes are not automatically transcribed. Transcription is only activated for new episodes that are recorded directly in EnaCast.
