Holiday Mode

Holiday mode lets you temporarily suspend all automatic recordings at your station. It’s useful during holiday periods, public holidays, or any time when your station isn’t broadcasting its regular content and you don’t want to generate empty episodes.

When holiday mode is active:

  • No shows are recorded, regardless of their configured schedules
  • No new episodes are generated
  • Your station’s website shows “off-schedule” content (a title and image you can customize)
  • Already recorded and published episodes remain available to listeners
  • The RSS feed continues working with existing episodes

Only affects recordings

Holiday mode only stops automatic recordings. Your station’s website, previous episodes, RSS feed, and streaming (if configured) continue to work normally.

From the admin panel, in your station’s settings, you’ll find the Holidays section with three fields:

FieldDescription
Holiday modeEnables or disables holidays immediately
Start dateSchedule when holidays will activate automatically
End dateSchedule when holidays will deactivate automatically

If you want to enable holiday mode right now:

  1. Go to the admin panel
  2. Open your station’s settings
  3. Find the Holidays section
  4. Check the Holiday mode checkbox
  5. Save your changes

Recordings will stop immediately.

If you want to schedule holidays in advance (for example, Christmas or summer holidays):

  1. Go to the admin panel
  2. Open your station’s settings
  3. Find the Holidays section
  4. Set the start date (when you want holidays to activate)
  5. Set the end date (when you want holidays to deactivate)
  6. Save your changes

To resume recordings, you have two options:

Automatic deactivation: if you set an end date, recordings will resume automatically when that date arrives. No action needed.

Manual deactivation: if you enabled holidays manually or want to end them before the scheduled date:

  1. Go to the admin panel
  2. Open your station’s settings
  3. Find the Holidays section
  4. Uncheck the Holiday mode checkbox
  5. Save your changes

Recordings will resume automatically at the next scheduled airtime.

During holidays:

  • Show schedules are not modified. They remain configured as they were
  • Transcription and automatic trimming settings don’t change
  • When holidays are deactivated, everything goes back to working exactly as before

While holiday mode is active, your station’s website can show special content instead of the current show. You can customize:

  • Title: for example, “Station on holiday” or “We’ll be back in September”
  • Description: an informational message for visitors
  • Image: a representative image for the downtime period

These fields are configured in the off-schedule content section of your station settings, in the admin panel.

No. If your station has streaming configured, it continues to work regardless of holiday mode. Holiday mode only stops podcast recordings.

Can I Schedule Holiday Mode for Recurring Dates?

Section titled “Can I Schedule Holiday Mode for Recurring Dates?”

No. Holiday mode is configured with a specific start and end date. For recurring holidays (for example, every Christmas), you’ll need to set it up each year.

Can I Enable Holidays for Only Some Shows?

Section titled “Can I Enable Holidays for Only Some Shows?”

Holiday mode applies to your entire station. If you only want to stop recording a specific show, disable recording in that show’s settings instead of using holiday mode.

What Happens if I Enable Holidays While a Show Is Being Recorded?

Section titled “What Happens if I Enable Holidays While a Show Is Being Recorded?”

The show currently being recorded will finish its recording normally. Holiday mode will take effect starting from the next scheduled recording.
