Creating an Episode Manually

In addition to automatic recording, EnaCast allows you to create episodes manually by uploading an audio file. This is useful when you have external recordings, pre-recorded interviews, or content that does not come from a live broadcast.

  1. Log in to the EnaCast admin panel
  2. Go to the Episodes section
  3. Click the Create episode or Upload episode button
  4. Select the show the episode belongs to
  5. Upload the audio file in MP3 format
  6. Fill in the episode metadata (title, description, image)
  7. Configure publication (draft, immediate, or scheduled)
  8. Save the episode

Format and size

  • Format: MP3
  • Maximum size: 200 MB
  • The system will automatically calculate the episode duration from the uploaded file

When creating an episode manually, you can configure the following information:

Select the show the episode belongs to. The episode will inherit the show’s settings (default image, transcription level, tags, etc.).

  • Title: the episode name that listeners will see. If you leave the title empty and the episode is transcribed, AI will generate one automatically
  • Description: a more detailed description of the content. This can also be automatically generated by AI if the show has full transcription enabled

You can upload a specific cover image for the episode. If you do not upload one, the show’s default image will be used.

When creating an episode, you can choose when it gets published:

OptionBehavior
DraftThe episode is saved but not visible to listeners. You can edit and publish it later
Publish nowThe episode is published immediately and will be available on the website and RSS feed
ScheduleSelect a future date and time. The episode will be published automatically at that time

Once uploaded, the episode goes through the same automatic processing as live-recorded episodes:

  • Cloud upload: the file is copied to storage servers to ensure availability
  • Transcription: if the show has transcription enabled and daily budget is available, the episode will be transcribed automatically
  • AI insights: after transcription, title, summary, tags, and sections will be generated according to the configured transcription level
  • Waveform: a waveform visualization is generated for the audio editor

Currently only the MP3 format is supported. If your audio is in another format (WAV, FLAC, AAC…), you will need to convert it to MP3 before uploading.

What Happens If I Upload a File Larger Than 200 MB?

Section titled “What Happens If I Upload a File Larger Than 200 MB?”

The system will reject the file. If your recording is very long, you can split it into parts or reduce the MP3 quality to decrease the file size.

Will the Manually Uploaded Episode Appear in the RSS Feed?

Section titled “Will the Manually Uploaded Episode Appear in the RSS Feed?”

Yes, once published, the episode will appear in the show’s RSS feed just like any automatically recorded episode.

Yes, you can edit the title, description, image, and trim the audio from the admin panel, just like any other episode.
